By downloading, installing, or using NameHalo ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
NameHalo is a mobile application that provides name perception ratings based on psychology research. The App allows users to:
- Browse names and view perception ratings across six dimensions
- Compare two names side by side
- Save favorite names
3. Data Source and Disclaimer
The name ratings in NameHalo are derived from "The Name Game" by Dr. Albert Mehrabian, a psychology research study on name perceptions.
Important: These ratings reflect historical perception data and are intended for entertainment and informational purposes only. They should not be used as the sole basis for important decisions. Name perceptions vary by culture, region, and individual experience.
4. User Accounts
Some features may require creating an account. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account
- All activities that occur under your account
- Notifying us of any unauthorized use
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to reverse engineer or modify the App
- Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality
- Scrape or collect data from the App for commercial purposes
6. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, features, and content, is owned by NameHalo and protected by intellectual property laws. The underlying research data is used with appropriate attribution to the original source.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that:
- The App will be error-free or uninterrupted
- The ratings reflect current or universal perceptions
- The App will meet your specific requirements
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, NameHalo shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to decisions made based on name ratings.
9. Subscriptions and Payments
If the App offers premium features:
- Payments are processed through Apple's App Store
- Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled 24 hours before the renewal date
- Refunds are handled according to Apple's refund policy
10. Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time for violation of these terms or for any other reason at our discretion.
11. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We will notify users of significant changes.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles.
